You talk to other parents, you're involved, and it's obvious how much you love your child. I bet your kiddo loves you more than anything. Hang in there. Up until we switched schools a few weeks ago, the teachers were entirely exasperated because the typical types of strategies that work for other autistic kids do nothing or make things worse. Her new teacher has implemented a new policy that she has to finish x,y, and z by the end of the day. How she gets to that point is entirely up to her. (Makes her feel like she is in control, while she still does everything requured of her). I hope it works. Too soon to tell at this point. As far as gifts go, technically your 1-1 isn't allowed to receive them, it's been frowned upon by every ethics article, class and company I've been involved in.Syvannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644538309673050572.post-1777303775592973352016-10-17T08:26:32.271-04:002016-10-17T08:26:32.271-04:00This comment has been removed by the author.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13654479485843430067noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644538309673050572.post-37182120559633445252016-10-17T08:18:57.961-04:002016-10-17T08:18:57.961-04:00Love your outfit ;)

Talking about behaviour and reasons why, has anyone ever mentioned Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) to you? We've found with ours that it just doesn't work the same way as with neurotypical kids. Our little one is seeking attention, but it's not the same as what people think as "seeking attention". She wants something specific and if she can't get it she will just escalate hoping if she has a big enough meltdown it'll happen. She has no impulse control and I think it gets to a point where she just flies into a blackout rage.
And OMG I wouldn't be game to meet other parents of her classmates! I'm thankful we have the special needs taxi to take her to and from school so I don't even need to make chit chat waiting for her.
PS. Yoga pants are real pants! I need to form a support group or something. I found some amazing "dress" yoga pants from betabrand. Check em out! They look like "real pants" but are comfy like yoga pants!smaugehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14469665036342619608noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2644538309673050572.post-78853303887876353682016-10-11T09:18:39.529-04:002016-10-11T09:18:39.529-04:00If anyone can do it, YOU can!
